Another Soul Experience-Your Sexuality

In the last issue we noted how Astrology can link you to your Soul in improving your awareness of your psycho-emotional issues and behaviors by using Chiron, for example, to home in on your Core Wound. Let's look at an area that most people don't view as a wound-sexuality. Wherever Leo or Scorpio might be in a chart is like a focus of sexuality and for some it will be a damaged area or place that needs some attention and understanding.

If you are a Leo (meaning your Sun is there) you may direct your Leonine energies towards children or creative endeavors, or all three, or one for part of your life and another for other ages and stages of your journey. If you are a Scorpio, you may redirect some of this energy to the pursuit of power or control, or fritter it away in resentment and the like. However, it's likely that the sexuality for these two signs will be up front in some way at some time.

One of the confusions in Astrology is that, though you may not have Leo or Scorpio as your Sun, you still have ample input from these signs if you have a planet or Asteroid there, and also where they sit on House cusps--meaning where they fall in the chart's circle, according to the turn of the Earth at your birth moment. Leo at dawn gives you a Leo Rising or Leo Ascendant with an emphasis that is nearly as large as if your Sun were in Leo. The same is true of a Leo Moon; however, the nature of the focus will be quite different-more emotional, need-oriented, etc. The sexual issue with a Leo rising might be that some father-figure is badgering you to be sexually responsive.

This example leads us back to looking at the wounds that crop up Leo often has father issues. An example of a wound might be in picking partners whose nature evokes similar reactions that you made with your father in similar situations. You might have worshiped or hated your father, so you do again with this other person. If Leo is in your 7th House partner House, you react to your husband. If in the 5th, you react to your kid, or to lovers. In the 6th House, your boss or fellow employee. And so on.

I've noticed some clients with a Leo Sun have a great deal of trouble with monogamy and fidelity, or they might advance views of open marriage. Challenged on this by several wives and lovers, this Leo still plunges into sexual wet cement time after time. Or a male Leo may drive his wife crazy by pursuing porn on the internet, leaving her feeling inadequate-all the while asserting that he has no problem or wound, that it's the others who are hung up. Astrology makes this plain.

A big part of Astrology is that it's dynamic, i.e., your energies at birth continue in the sky and in your being for your whole life. I can easily see what energies are involved around a car accident or marital breakup by moving my Astrology program to the date of the occurrence, even if it was 20 years ago. That's what personal responsibility means-not guilt, but that your energies have natural results that grow from your values, fears, appreciations, desires, and needs, which Astrology can see. Astrology lets me see a range of like reactions or responses when the planetary energies sweep up in the solar system to a moment and event in your life.

Whether or not the Leo resisted, for awhile, the seductions of that woman at the gambling casino isn't the point. He invited her to that moment on a cosmic level as the attending Mars, Venus, or Saturn will indicate and in the appropriate area of life or House. He engendered a Soul experience.
